Not to be argumentative, but if your best option is to park on a ramp, you probably shouldn't be driving either. Jus sayin.

Can we assume from this that you’ve never been in the situation of arriving where you planned to shut down later than you intended through no fault of your own with 15 minutes left on your clock only to find no parking available and had to resort to plan B?

Let’s not be the ones in glass houses who resort to throwing stones.

Agreed, but if you must resort to parking in a ramp, at least be smart about it and park on the ON-ramp where the passing traffic is slower.

    Ok Landstar checklist :

    1) Purchase an illegal truck.
    2) Park on ramps.

You guys feel free to add as you see fit.

    You can assume that 100%.
I'm a dry van, mostly drop and hook and I've never spent a night on a ramp.
That said, I don't understand why people seem to think ok.
I pull out in the morning from places that have plenty of parking only to see my brethren parked on the ramp.....they never even tried.

That's not really a LS thing. I mean, we have guys that actually do bathe, but I don't know if operations cares where you do it.

    Opus Thanks this.

Actually, Opus, it is legal in certain areas and, in an emergency (nodding out or snow storm), it is better to take a nap on a ramp ,if there is no parking available nearby, than to drive tired, IMO. And forget about planning ahead - there are certain times that things just don't go as planned (like in the military). In my 40 yrs of driving though, I can probably count on one hand all the times I ever slept on a ramp.
