Speaking of DMV testers, the funniest thing I ever saw when I was an instructor in Fontana, was while I was waiting for my students to do their road test, a truck from another school came back with the DMV tester driving it and the student in the passenger seat ! ! I believe he failed the road test......

Good luck to you on the test! I'm testing this Friday, the 11th, and my nerves are already racing! For the love of god, I'm hoping I don't get the alley dock!

When I took my test the DMV had everything extra I needed like wheel chocks but I would say just bring some just to be safe.

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone! I should be able to report back around noon central time tomorrow on how I did.

One little issue though; There's about 40 empty trailer in our lot. The paperwork on one departments trailers says the registration expires in 04/2018. The other half are 07/2019 expiration, HOWEVER, the 2019 trailers aren't in good shape. They did pass the DOT inspection this past July, but the tandems are extremely rusted and the shocks/brake canisters look really bad. I honestly don't see how they passed inspection.
According to the dock foreman, the registrations get "rolled over" to the next year, and even though it says it expires in 2018, the registration is good until 2019. He say's he is 100% sure. Does that sound accurate? That sounds strange to me. I'd rather take the 2018 trailers because they are in much better condition, but obviously if the paperwork doesn't check out it's a no-go.

From what I understand the sticker on a trailer is the day it was inspected not the expiration date.

Also might want to bring an air pressure Guage for the tires. Guy at my school got a road test proctor that must have been in a mood and dinged him a few points for not being able to know the tires are up to correct pressure

Thanks, I just packed a pressure gauge to be sure.
The stickers and paperwork both say that they were inspected in 2017. The expiration says 2018. He said it "rolls over" and that it's actually good for two years, even though it says it expires in 2018.
I asked another driver there and he said that is correct...I just find that really hard to believe.

The driver even went as far as to say that they just had them inspected this summer. It seems weird that they wouldn't get updated paperwork and stickers at that time.
