In my state (maine) its forbidden to use cameras for enforcement, so what they would do is just send you a friendly reminder not to run the red light.
Tennessee red light cameras.

I worked at a plumbing company in the office and we would get them in the mail all of the time. I had to give it to the plumber and I started looking up the laws and found where it was illegal. I told the guy to fight it and he did. No one paid for those tickets after that.DenBob Thanks this.

I like that idea. LOL

As soon as my city they told me they didn't report the tickets to the DMV the fight was over.
Their big white flag appeared right in front of my face.Sirscrapntruckalot and deathB4decaf Thank this. -
They are not lawful for enforcement in Arkansas. I don't think there are any in place for that. However there are certainly cameras everywhere for traffic and other purposes.

Yeah, listen to me, probably ran more red lights than most. Hey, back then, no traffic waiting at a light, quick check the mirrors, no cops, screw it, not gonna smoke the brakes for nothing. Never once had to worry about cameras.
Once on a training deal for a job, the passenger was an old driver, we came up on a light in a small town at night, it turned red, or was red, before I started slowing down, the guy said, "blink your high beams a couple times", I did and the light turned green. Something about a sensor thinks it's a emergency vehicle. He also said, don't let a cop see you do that.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Ive heard they look at the picture in marshall and if your cab is at or past the signal light they wont send you a ticket but that was several years ago i heard that
-
My understanding is, they don't send tickets to big trucks or out of state vehicles. If you get one in the mail, they aren't legally enforceable. Toss it in the trash. Nothing will come of it. It's purely for revenue.

I wonder about US 1 in Jersey. 40 miles worth of red lights it seemed if you hit the first one off I-287 wrong.
