It's going to be interesting to see how your career as a bus O/O unfolds. You seem very willing to abide by the law when you have no other choice...but only then and reluctantly at that. Given a choice, you seem to look for loop-holes and ways to skirt the regulations.
I seriously doubt that you can come up with any outlaw way of running that the cops haven't seen...and dealt with...thousands of times.
You're not unique, you're just another guy trying to slide past the rules, and you don't know enough to realize how far out on a limb you're crawling.

You're right, it would be cheating the system. But like you said, it doesn't matter since I'm not going there anyway.
Ridiculous! I've never broken the law and what rules did I try to slide past?! Driving into California? I've never operated a CMV in California so that doesn't count. Driving around weigh stations? I've never driven around weigh stations or bypassed a closed weigh station so that doesn't count. Parking CMV at my house? That's not illegal, I called the city and they said it's OK; besides, it's my property so it's none of your business! Willing to abide by the law when I have no other choice? I could've easily bypassed those weigh stations, but I didn't! No experience dealing with cops and fly-by-night carriers? I bet I've dealt with them more than you! Besides, you think the cops like ticketing CMVs solely due to the year on the engine? I'm blaming the politicians, not the cops!!!!
I started this discussion because I don't like Commiefornia politicians and believe it's unconstitutional to fine CMVs engaging in interstate commerce due to the year of their engine, not because I intend to operate a CMV with a non-complaint engine in CA!!!!
If I wanted to slide past the rules, why would I post on a public forum asking about them, and then break the law? I might as well have just called the police ahead and told 'em I was gonna do it! *****!!!!Last edited: Jan 13, 2019

We can do without the name calling.

He's the one saying I'm gonna disregard the law and operate unsafely! If that were the case, why'd I consult both an attorney and a police officer prior to making decisions related to aforementioned discussions on this forum?

Yeah, the above ******* thinks I'm trying to outrun the cops; he doesn't know I asked a COP before doing anything! Why don't y'all call him out for name-calling?!Last edited: Jan 13, 2019

Disregarding CARB rules can be done while still operating safely.
I really don't see how CA can regulate a carrier engaged in interstate commerce that's not registered in CA. But that's a battle that I'm not going to fight. I run 47 states. CA can kiss my ###. -
Good luck to you.

I just did. Who did I quote there. JeezSwadian Thanks this.
