Buying a truck, what years should I avoid?

    either buying a kw or a freightliner 2013 or newer are there and years to avoid?

    Get the newest sucker you can afford, or perhaps one before 2006 with no DEF or EGR. I have a 2014 Freighliner Cascadia, and I did experience lots of DEF issues. Newer trucks probably worked out some of the bugs that haunt the older ones.

    My old boss has a 2014 cascadia evolution and he had nothing but egr and def issues. I am going with a 2015 and hope I don't have the same issues!!! It's a working mans casino gamble... You can always bypass it and stay out of California like my old boss did ..

    @OONewber: How are you doing on gas mileages on 2015 freightliner. and I am looking 2015 freightliner axle ratio 3.58

    Avoid anything newer than an '06 those shop queens with that def will leave you broke.
