Winter and no idle Company Trucks.....

  1. also if it's a cold weather issue try opening up the hood while it's running a lot of times depending on where they have that stupid sensor you get too much hot air underneath if it's sunny out and it could even be four below zero yet your truck thinks its 36 degrees outside and it'll shut ooff.So lots of times especially in the cold either turn your truck to where the cold air is blowing directly on the radiator or open up the hood most of the time opening up the hood and about 0 degrees does the trick the thermostat reader will read itself closer to 10 or 11 degrees and stay there in the truck will stay running and stop heating itself up thinking it's hotter than it is..

  2. oftentimes what happens with a lot of them to is they will think it's hotter than it actually is I had a Volvo with a d13 engine for some reason we're the temperature sensor was the guy that had the truck before me like does air conditioner running so he read mounted it to where it would stay hot all the time in warm-weather even cooler weather so he could have the air on. the problem that arised was that is the fact that in the winter time and thought it was hotter than it was so where it was mounted at closer to the engine if it was idling let's say the actual real feel with wind chill was 4 below zero truck should hold somewhere close to about 10 degrees maybe 11 degrees it was showing 36 37 degrees and shutting off..show a simple fix if you don't have the means to turn the truck to where the wind is blowing right added in the winter and keeping it nice and cold so it stays running because it actually reads what it should all that hot air is not building up around that sensor shutting the truck off its just open up the hood your closing off as the hood is open and opening up the air flow of the cold air to come in and hit that sensor and I find that when I go to sleep at night I just throw the hood open and it runs all night long and cold cold weather no problem at all not shutting off and having to wake up and restart
