Man y'all are more talkative than old women at a hair salon!

So I about worried myself to death about a leak I found on Tues morning about 30 min before I had to drop off my load. Couldn't figure out wtf kt was...not engine oil, not coolant. It was dripping between the block and the trans. Not quite clears, thin and kind of an oily touch. Thinking thinking thinking...I couldnt figure it out. So I deliver, get load to Houston and then yesterday a load here go San Antone. Pull into the shop yesterday evening, and my boss looks at it for about 3 seconds..."Its diesel, I think the fuel filter is loose".

Talk about feeling like a dummy. I looked all over the driver side of the engine, staring right at that #### filter, even grabbed and tried to tighten it by hand and it just barely budged. Yea I wanted to go sit in the corner with the dunce hat on. Lol.

Oh no, after I tell you this, you'll be fine....

So I'm not going to name the driver but he'll read this and not reply. A couple super-loads were traveling with a bunch of pilots and police escorts. They stopped to check the loads, the lead pilot took a wee on the right side of one of the trucks between the front drives and APU. A couple minutes later the driver walks around that side where several of the group were now standing, joins in the BS session then notices his APU is leaking. Being the "tough guy" he is and needing to prove he's tougher than everyone else he swiftly leans down, drags his finger through the leaked fluid and tastes it...... Didn't taste like anything that would leak from an APU but he'll now be able to identify which pilot whizzed under his truck.

Did they fix your air leak while they had it in the shop?

Ever have one of those ‘high plains drifter’ moments? Or maybe a Big Ronnie moment.

Walk into a place and sit at the horseshoe. There’s a group of guys at the bottom of the horseshoe, their alpha sitting in the middle. He’s putting one member down continually (quite funny) and he puts both waitresses down. One waitress is sassy and loud and animated and the other is subdued.I walk in and mind my own business. The quiet waitress comes up to me with a menu and asks me for my drink order. Alpha gets louder. Waitress comes with my beer.

    Give me your hand.

She gives me her hand and I whisper to her. She leans in, we’re very close, alpha is silent and studying. We interlock fingers. I finish and lean back into the chair.

“Oh my God, I think I want to cry!”

The guys at the horseshoe are puzzled and the other waitress is bewildered. Alpha starts talking, I’m sipping my beer, exchanging glances with my waitress. She comes back over, leans in and asks, “Where are you from?” Silence in the room.

    Estados Unitos.

    “Where?”

Estados Unitos. That’s means the United States in Spanish.

Alpha starts in, “This is America. We speak...”

Sweetheart, could you get me another beer?

She snaps to attention, grabs my beer, opens it and hands it to me. I compliment her in front of everyone. She is beaming.

Beta is sharing intel with alpha. “Met him before. Good guy. I think he’s a truck driver....”
Alpha starts inquiring about what I do. Small talk. “You don’t live around here do you? We come in here every day....yadda yadda yadda.” (What does it mean when someone starts volunteering their info? Can anyone tell me?)

The other waitress is standing inside the horseshoe across from me, leaning back and studying. ( What is she thinking?)

Do you like love stories? I will tell you a love story. ( I tell her a relationship joke)

Beta speaks to me, “I met you before.”

    Sure it was me?

“Yes! You did X to the waitress.”

Anyways, that was my high plans drifter moment of the week.

Can't believe you ain't ashamed of yourself, " You did X to the waitress. " right in front of witnesses.
I mean I understand. It can get lonely out in the world. The interlocking fingers is one thing but interlocking much beyond that is what they invented "behind closed doors" for.

Y'all have a great day now, ya hear ?

Noooo...nothing like that. I asked the other waitress about getting back to my truck, and she turned her back, bent over and said, “Here! Hop on, I will give you a ride.”

@ShooterK2 I know you don't probably deal with weather like we normally get this far north, but I'm just putting it out there, I've got two frozen pressure gauges and need to at least know my tank pressure to unload. Got any tips? Thanks.
