You’re right, they were designed to fuel kill. Saw one start to run away in the shop on a TS14, mechanic put a clipboard over the intake. And yes Wabcos were a joke.

He told me one about the day that they invented air. Got up and went down by the shore to get some Dunkin Donuts coffee and chew the cud with the three other people who were populating the planet right then. Went and inhaled to get a power source for spreading the latest gossip and found out his lungs were empty. Well now, that just wasn't gonna do. How was he supposed to tell his stories without air crossing his larynx to make sound with ?
I'm telling you right now, they commenced to making an atmosphere to power their lungs with. Toot sweet !
That was back in the Old Days when he was almost relatively young.
That was a long way back there guy's.

That looks like a south of the boarder wagon. But me and dad ran a C75 Square body long frame 427 tall deck 5 and a 2 with a tag. Hauled grain just fine at 4.5mpg when gas was 99 cents. Not quick, but a real light outfit. They used them in Cleveland to double out of the mill. Yea real funny to see a C70 hooked to a set of doubles. Milt Baker out of Oberlin used to run a fleet of them across Ohio and Indiana turnpike pulling spreads and 3'9". When they got out and wound up, not many diesels could pass them. Middle of the night out of no place you would see headlights gaining on you. When he went buy and he always did. You thought you were at a Nascar race and just lost.
