Just a little word of advice to all you newbee truckers out there. STICK CLEAR OF CR ENGLAND. I was 21 and stupid, I went to the first truck company that would accept me. CR England was the company willing to sign for my loan at MTC TRUCK DRIVER TRAINING. I was all hopeful and took the lies as truth and was dumb enough to sign a lease, all be it a 6 month trial. 0.87 cpm and 2500+ miles per week. Sounds good right? Not if you count in the truck payments, insurance, fuel, internet, etc etc etc. Charge after charge. There were weeks when I OWED them 300.00. 3 weeks to be truthful.I was dumbfounded thinking, how in the HE*L could I owe them when its them who should pay me? Yes teaming up with their god for saken new drivers that cant drive a monster truck out of a mud puddle and get lost every turn and make you late to 5 loads out of 7 will get you a good check, but your life just isnt worth it. Sucky pay mixed with ZERO ZERO ZERO home time just makes for a terrible experience. These guys will keep you out on the road for months at a time without caring if you want to go home. And what do they say when you want home time? Sorry we don't have any loads going to your home town so we'll sent you to bum-##**-egypt then to neverland- then to sosotown. Then we'll possibly have a load from there to your home but no promises. When you ask for home time...get this... they want a vivid explanation WHY you want to go home... its like hell ive been over the road for 10 straight weeks, no days off, I want a day off to see my family. Do you guys in the office have to give an explanation why you want to go home every night after work? No. Sorry I konw i've babbled long enough. But just stick clear of them. Even company drivers only make like $200.00 a week, and that is just not worthy being gone 24/7 of yoru life.

Good advice to avoid the lease scams...I might add it is also a good idea to avoid a company with bullet proof glass at corporate headquarters.

Such a company may not view drivers as their most valuable asset. -
why would anyone think they could become a o/o fresh out of school. there is so much to learn being a company driver, let alone the financial obligations of owning.
i believe a person should spend at least 2 years running their company truck like they own it. keeping track of all expenses that one has and substituting in the o/o numbers where applicable and see if its all you think it is. -
Everybody at the company including your trainers always make the lease out to be the best thing in the world. Saying stuff like *if you want to actually make money, then lease, if you dont, then go company.* Only good thing about CRE is they have the 6 month trial lease, which is more than some companies can say that want you to sign a 3 year lease right out the gate. When you're fresh out of the gate all happy and giddy and they promise you the world then you do what they say thinking you're going to have it made. You don't want to listen to the stories of the failed truckers because you think that *oh they was too lazy to make it or just didnt want to make it but im different* and you sign the lease against what most have told you. But you learn from your mistakes and get smarter from them and would hopefully but smart enough never to sign again, unless you find that small chance where a company will pay you enough to stay ahead and stay ahead.
