Funny thing is that Mack passed the 2007 CARB tests, that is 'til the "powers that be" wanted to see the ECM, didn't have one, sorry you fail, end of the E-9, dam^&*# shame!!! Before Volvo shut the Mack foundry down in Hagerstown the engineers were testing an E-9 with the cam driven injectors, as in the 427 & 460 E-7's, making 900 H.P. 2450 ' lbs. # 2400 R.P.M. Was hoping that one of the reasons that Volvo wanted Mack was the V-8, guess I was wrong again.

Seems to me that we can all P@** on the 2010 engines as that's all that SCR is, urine injection. DEF is no more than urine, only made from natural gas like that's not a fossel fuel ??????????

Unfortunately, CAT is leaving the on highway business this year.

As for Cummins, I'm not sure how that's going to happen when they have approx. 40% of the heavy duty engine market now????:biggrin_25512::biggrin_2554:

My boss has had Macks for years . He's not planning on buying any more because of too much downtime . That's too bad because it isn't the truck . It's poor service at the dealership he bought them from , Banner Truck Sales in Evansville , IN . They cost me quite a bit in lost loads because just about every time my truck went in there they didn't get it right and it would have to go back . Other drivers had the same experience . I had that truck worked on at Cambridge Mack in Cambridge , ON and it was done right . They spent half the time correcting Banner's screwups .

There are no mechanics left at the "dealerships". Only PARTS CHANGERS!!! These guys couldn't find a noisy wrist pin or a scored piston it their life depended on it!! If the "puter" doesn't present the correct "fault code" map they are clueless!!!
