If they’re spec’d and driven like a truck with a 1998 powertrain they will definitely not achieve good mpg. That’s part of the reason so many are disappointed. The proper spec has a big impact on MPG.
Time to buy a new semitruck, but not sure what brand

Oil and tires are like comparing apples and oranges, different set of rules.cke and Rubber duck kw Thank this.
-
Not a different set off rules.
It is about throwing something away blindly.
Doesn't matter what it is,you take the right steps to decide when you replace a item.
Tyres you measure and inspect for damage.
Oil you have analysed. -
You were right. It is huge, i can do jump n jacks in here and not hit the roof. It does well over 6 mpg with a cruising speed of 71 mph. Not much of a hill climber though. She's no slouch but definitely not the 1st to the top. Got 1253 miles on a tank with just under 45 gallons remaining out of 225

What were you pulling with that c16, feather pillows?

I call bs...
At around 8/32 I'm going to new tires.
Even if I didnt sale them to reduce the purchase cost it's still more cost effective to change them early.
Could I go further? Sure. But why waste time and money on a road call or paying more at a truck stop?
What's a road call cost? 300? 500, if you're in the middle of no where? You just paid 1000 bucks for 1 tire, that could have bought 2...
The preventative part of PM, is there for a reason.
As far as the oil...
100k miles a year for me. If I spend $400 every 25k, that's $8,000 in 5 yr.
Dude does synthetic, analysis, additives every 50k (let's say $600). That's $6,000 in 5yr.
We both trade our trucks in at the same time, even the dealership would pay more for mine..
That rebuild at 500-700k is going to be way more than the 2 grand you saved in 5years of ownership..Rubber duck kw and Oxbow Thank this. -
Exactly, I buy drive tires it's 4800 dollars, compared to that 120 bucks an oil change is nothing, and I only do 5 or 6 oil changes a year at 12k interval.
