    Hi everyone,

I noticed from this thread that a lot of you might want a place to sleep other than your truck: New Truck Stop. What do YOU want?

If financially possible for you, would you prefer to sleep inside a building? If so, why would you prefer to sleep inside a building? (For example: cleaner air, less noise, no lot lizards, etc.)

Would you prefer to sleep in a house that is not at the truck stop, but is close to the truck stop? If so, what would you want the house to be like?

You know I've been seeing more and more of these buildings you speak of, it a strange new concept, but I think it's a good idea.

I seen one the other day called "motel 6" or something like that. @shogun said he went to a place like that once and they served him a hearty breakfast soon as he woke up! That's when he drove for Swift tho.

im fine with sleeping in my truck, more parking, cleanliness, good prices, good coffee, good food,.. i think thats what most us truckers want is a friendly safe clean place to spend the night.. theres a handfull across the country that i always give my business to when im in the area, and some i will never visit again..... staying in a house everynight sounds good but would be to much a burden and probably not realistic... id just stay at a hotel if i wanted

That morning, after breakfast, with 6 months experience I landed the Werner trainer job. What I would like is one truck stop where I can get cutoff Tshirts, gym shorts and flip flops all pre-packaged. And when I reach diamond status, I should get a Big Bubba mug with free refills. And more TastyCake chocolate pies, why are those never available?

I’m never comfortable being on another property and truck and load is nowhere near. Some places won’t allow you to leave a load sitting elsewhere other than where the driver is.

Did y'all like the Motel 6 for any particular reason other than the nice breakfast? :)

I've been doing some research and I've been concerned about the air quality of truck cabs due to all the exhaust from all the trucks idling. So that's why I'm interested in sleeping rooms inside a building as opposed to sleeping in the truck.

I thought about something like a Truckers AirBnB kind of system. Like, cheap rooms ($10/night) available in houses located close (a few minutes' walk) to the truck stop.

Build one on the tidewater. Forget the houses, get a few old skipjacks and stick bunks em and anchors plus sails. I'll be on the water for a while. It wont be pretty getting out and sure wont try to hit anything coming back.
