My 2009 freightliner columbia with a Mercedes MBE4000 engine gives me a problem. It starts, then in 15 seconds displays a red dash light and shuts off. It actually broke in Milwaukee in the middle of -5 degree weather. Not fun. Fortunately someone agreed to park it in a warehouse overnight, so I could pick it up as it could drive itself on a trailer 15 seconds at a time.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea why this could have happened. I will try to follow the detroit procedure on Monday. 20190126_113848.jpg 20190126_105514.jpg

EGR valve most likely died, you will need Detroit Diagnostic Link to see if it open on command.

I use this #### that they use in commercial ovens soot cleaner suspended the actuator above the solvent and let it sit over night. Ive saved many of cummina egr valves this way
