You could jack up each drive wheel and rotate slowly while checking for a tire out of round due to ply separation. Eventually, a drive tire will sling off a chunk of tread or the entire cap. Then you will know. Feel the sidewalls to determine whether one tire is warmer than the others.

If it gets worse, get it checked, One of our drivers had something break yesterday in the Steer tires, and he lost control and crashed on I 74 heading to Crawfordsville in IN. Looks like he totaled the truck! I had to pick him up and drive him back to MI yesterday.

It might be the tires, My dad bought a set of tires for his pickup, had them balanced and the whole 9 yards, after a few miles they would bounce, turns out the tires were bad and the brand of tires from the same company were bad, they were all out of round tire almost oval, he had them replaced with a different brand and all is well now, also have king pins checked to see if they are bad, i had a truck shake from that, also had a tire with a flat spot on a steer tire, that had to be replaced as it caused shaking.

Laugh if you will, but. . .

I had a 2001 9400 two axle day cab that had one heck of a vibration in it. It had this vibration right from the get-go, whether loaded or unloaded, or bobtail. But it developed at different speeds, from as low as 45 to 70, to as high as 55 to 70. Governed at 70, so I don't know if it ever would have "gone through" the vibration.

Had it in our shop numerous times, had it to International numerous times. Nobody could find the problem. But everybody who drove it, agreed that it was there, and that it was a problem.

The truck started life as a line haul, and as I said, had the problem right from the get-go. Inherited it at about 120,000. I put nearly 100,000 on it before I was able to push it off on a new guy. Still had the vibration.

It wasn't too bad for P & D around town. But put a few hundred highway miles on it, and you came out of it with a headache and feeling shaky all over.

i had a problem when with USA started as a gentle vibration, after a few weeks it was a violent shaking above 55 MPH. USA's "answer"was tp have the steers balanced !!
they put over 18 OZ on one spot on the steer. turns out it was a seperated belt.
pizzed me off cause everytime i told breakdown it was "violently shaking" they said "so, you have a VIBRATION?":biggrin_25510:

A friend of mine had the same issue with shake in front end at about the same speed. He had Firestone 590 with about 20000 miles on them with the sand inside. He thought the sand maybe sticking together so he had it taken out and a set of balancers put on.U guessed it.Did'nt help.He stopped at Nobels TS at Tallapoosa GA and had them true his tires.Said they trimmed the left tire pretty good but says now that shake is gone and drives smooth as silk.Hope this helps.

You may want to check the bushings on the arms on top of both rear ends, I don't know what there called but I had to replace those to remedy my steering wheel shake. Hope that helps.
