While driving in high wind conditions I find it preferable to have your axles back as opposed to California setup

King pin to rear axle length, commonly known as California legal if rear axle on spread will slide forward to create tandem set up. I just purchased one only to find other states also have King pin laws, so depending on where your headed, have to load accordingly, and that gets confusing to balance axle weights, and hard to slide once loaded

It does not matter if you have axles from God 5 miles behind you. Strong enough winds will flip you down.

Ca 40' kpra only applies if trailer >48'..
Making a 48' 10'1" spread valuable for heavy loads there..

Having been blown over once, and almost blown over a few times, when in doubt, park it. Two years ago I came every close to ending up on my side, in a very bad situation, were it not for a straight truck that ran block for 30 miles. I cursed my bosses out for a week.

TruckRunner, Lepton1 and bzinger Thank this.
