Years ago I read an owners manual for a fifth wheel and they recommended diesel fuel to lube the slide. A little fuel on there before sliding and everything gets cleaned up real nice after a while.

WD-40 in a gallon can, plastic spray bottle. squirt a little before you try to slide. This will dry after your done and wont collect dirt and road grime. Pulling that RGN, you should really drop the air on the truck and then set it on the ground to slide. Just saying that how I do when I have to scale something new/ a different piece I haven't hauled before. Just a tip, keep a small note pad and keep the settings for most of the more uncommon pieces you haul. makes scaling a one shot wonder! Be safe out there!

I got a spray can of it and will try it out on the slide area. The grease gets pushed out and washed out. Maybe this will work better.
