Sometimes you might save $1,000 but 10000 miles after the warranty is over you have problems.
That's really impressive that you got those kinds of miles out of it and it's still in good shape.
I don't want to derail the thread, but I'm curious about your engine and how that's doing with all those miles on it, whether you have rebuilt it and any other serious repairs to keep your truck rolling with that many miles.
Older trucks are great if you really have the grit to keep up with them and do whatever it takes to keep them going.
They are almost infinitely rebuildable.JR28262, Lepton1 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Well i started this post because i just purchased a
2001 Freightliner Fld120 70" wit/1.4mill
And its in mint condition inside and out.
One owner truck since new, older guy too. Dealer said he got rid of the truck cause of retirement. I got the interior detailed and man does it look like im the first owner and i drove 1500 miles home to NC from CO with no problems gauges were fine diff oils were change also the engines but the trans was black with shavings i didnt see it myself but i can tell the old man shifted nice cause the way it shifts, its nothing like the POS i abuse as a company driver and it only has 300K.Tombstone69 Thanks this. -
