Well........you did not have to do that! You are allowed "reasonable access from the Interstate System" so the local length laws don't necessarily apply! I ran NYC 5 boros most of my career. As long as you were taking a truck route to your consignee you are okay. Plus the ticket would have been cheaper than the repair!
