Came to the patch with wet ink on my CDL 2 years ago. Slept in my truck and had a job with housing in 4 days hauling produced water.

Get on Indeed.com before you come. I posted a resume last June on Indeed.com and got a phone call on 10 minutes on a Friday. Was in a truck hauling crude the next week.
Study for the hazmat and take the test. I got my background check in 3 weeks. It definitely opens up more opportunities.joseph1853 Thanks this. -
I posted my resume on indeed and applied to about ten jobs there but so far no luck. I'm going to a job fair Tuesday in Midland .Hopefully that'll work out -

I was in texas when I got my CDL. I got hired with a paper license showing I had passed the testing and waiting on the results of the background check.
I didn't need hazmat to haul produced water tho.Pistolpete1991 Thanks this. -
Maybe the best thing to do is figure out which place has the nicest weather and which place is the place where everybody wants to be and that's the place that will have the lowest rates.
Then look at the place that's the most miserable that nobody wants to be and that's where you should find the highest rates due to driver shortages since nobody wants to be there.cuzzin it Thanks this. -
So Colorado is the best place to start as a beginner
joseph1853 Thanks this.
