Not to toot my company's own horn or anything, but we were told we got ranked #1 in the Mastio survey. Looked it up and sure enough, ranked #1 by customers. Pretty cool, as a regional company, to beat out so many national companies. Mastio - Latest Multi-Client (Syndicated) Studies

This is how cold it was Tuesday night, in Mason City IA.

This was in an idled UP, RUNNING truck with the heat on. It was in the cup holder.
I, on the other hand was across the street in our company apartment. Warm and cozy.
That bottle was still partly frozen on Thursday, in my lunch bag.

red tractors looked so much better IMO. White is just too bland and easy to see the grease on it. I feel like most drivers at my hub on purpose put their greasy gloves on to open the door or hood. I have seen tractors with less than 50k miles covered in grease [IMG]

Before Fedwrex took over.... Apparently back then those tractors where called red racers by some drivers

haha why do you say that? For your information we have 87 road drivers at my hub, so yeah I'll be at the bottom of the barrel for a while. Most of those senior guys don't want to retire!!

I keep hearing more and more rumors about Old Dominion opening new terminal in my area, if this comes true I'll be the first to apply there for a linehaul spot. Could probably get a day run right of the bat

Nooo grease on the tractor. I’ve recently have felt very grateful because my bid tractor has been in the shop so I’ve been driving whatever I can get. Seems like the tractors I’ve been in the city driver and road driver wear their pretrip and or dock gloves while driving. I do not know how else you can f up the steering wheel and interior so bad.

    Mike2633 and misterG Thank this.

Day runs mean more traffic and idiots. I ran a day run a couple days because of the weather and I did not like it. Started in the day and got home at 9:30 pm Unless you get like a 5 am start day linehaul isn’t that great because of hours and traffic. I even asked my wife.. days or nights. She agreed nights are better than the day crap I did. But there’s a future retirement home of city drivers by me and if and when they all retire I’ll jump on a 7:30 am start. Just waiting because I sure as heck don’t want a 11 a.m. start.

87 road drivers? Jfc. Day time run would be enticing, and I used to wish they existed at my terminal, but being in MA, it would be the easiest way to sit in traffic and run out my clock everyday to complete my run.

I agree, I did few day meet runs leaving the yard at around 11 am and the traffic was a big pain in the butt. However the money was good. I remember one week I did the same meet run all week which was 325 miles to Ohio Newton twp. and then back. You can easily make $110k+ a year with that run.

    Mike2633 and Digman943 Thank this.

Yup, our hub has 200 door and they plan on expanding. What run do you have now?

    Mike2633 Thanks this.
