So if when leasing on with your own truck (not financed but bought with cash) and leasing on do have insurance before you go to the orientation for their carrier that you are leasing onto? Is it just bobtail or do you need any other insurance? Like just in case you hit somebody I guess is what I’m wondering... Like for example if you and your truck are in a different state and you need to travel to an orientation like 1100 miles away in another state but when you get there you will be leasing on to that carrier’s insurance what do you do? Is it only bobtail needed?

Novice question but wondering how this works.

You ask the carrier your leasing too.

Temporary bobtail insurance is all you need to get to orientation. Check with the carrier you are leasing on to, you might get a better price using the same company they use for your temp insurance. Ask about a temporary cab card, don't know that you need it if you just purchased the truck and haven't leased this truck onto a carrier before but I needed one when I switched companies.
