I had to sit and think a while before posting this. Mainly choice of words and tact. Also, being extremely careful to not tear a company down when I believe in them. But this breaks my heart and needs address by BRF immediately. If y'all are going to tout yourselves as family first, you better back it up. I have a very close friend who drives there now. His grandmother recently died. He almost missed seeing her before she passed. He made it but had to fight through a ridiculous amount of unnecessary red tape to get there. His grandmother raised him from a child. That might as well have been his mother. He had to get into multiple verbal arguments to get home and he barely made it. That's just inexcusable. He isn't on this forum because he's not interested, so he'll never see this. My other friend currently driving for Millis had to go through some ridiculous garbage to make it home (if he does) to a family member's funeral. If he makes it, it'll be just in time. I'm disappointed. Come on, BRF. This is inexcusable. If you really care about retention, this can't happen. Congrats on selling yourselves in a nice light. The proof lately doesn't look good. Most people care more about family than anything else. Myself included.

So Millis isn't as good about getting you home like they say they are? I have a wife and four kids, I really dont want to be out for more than 2 weeks at a time.

They have been excellent about getting me home when I request it. But I haven't had a family emergency arise where I need to come home immediately, either. Looks like they might be slacking a bit in that department.StyxxNC Thanks this.

Good to know, thanks

Whelp, if anyone reads about a truck fire today on 77s in NC, I'm stuck in that mess. Been sitting for 90 minutes so far. I love my job, I love my job, I love my job...

Did the driver make it out?

No idea. I didn't see an ambulance, but I don't know how recent the crash was before I got there. In fact, there was nothing there at all, truck and trailer were hauled away. Nothing to see but skid marks and a burned spot on the road. I hope he/she did. I'm thankful it wasn't me. I'm bummed that I lost 2 hours though. Might not make it home to see mama tomorrow night

I'm about to snag a load off the board. And as I always do, I checked out the load notes. This one cracked me up. Driver must have smart phone. Crimany. Are there seriously O/Os running without a smart phone these days? And how exactly do you think I found your load? Cracks me up. It might as well have said "if you want to open a package, fingers are required".

Score! Got to my delivery early, got in a dock within 30 minutes, light turned red almost immediately, and my trailer was rocking in 2 minutes. Mama time coming right up. Have a good weekend y'all.
