Im sorry this is standard across the board in trucking. Out of say 200 drivers I hired onto a company with had 15 seniors on the list that has been there over a year to 20+ years. The other 185 drivers (I was number 32 in 6 months of 211) were fired, ternimated or dismissed within 3 to 6 moths. The entire fleet with the exception of the 15 core drivers were being replaced twice a year if not three times to keep bodies rolling the trucks. If I had stayed there a year I would be somewhere between 15 and 23 in senority. The company itself went out of business two years after I left and good riddiance.

One time they denied my comcheck money request. I stuck 10 dollars into a carolina poker machine and 20 minutes later I had 150 dollars in winnings cash. That was more than enough to be twice what I asked for in comcheck that day. Paying some tolls among other things. The company noticed the tolls (Norfolk, Maryland bridge something like 30 dollars I think) asking me how in the hell did I get money to go there? I told them I gambled for it and got twice what I asked for. So tolls is no longer a problem for the week. (They exploded.) it means I can take loads anywhere in the NE from that part of the USA pretty much. Or the midwest in those days. Cash. Payroll will come eventually and that will be good.

    Anyway.

Court? What does it matter to YOU as a basic company driver if the company safety record is bad or not? You did not get hurt? You did not get killed. Or disabled. No one went postal with a gun shooting the place up; why would you even be IN a court anyway? What just did you do now?

Most truckers never see a court. (The lucky ones anyway)

So what if a company hires violent felons. They threatened you in the playground out back maybe? Are you that weak? What did you do to provoke them? You worry about your own self, your load, truck and family. Not them.

So what if the backhauls are bad? You make do. It's a load. yes you might have to hold your nose or take migraine medicine or deal with the horrible stress of hauling some ####ty load. But oh well, you are a trucker. Suck it up buttercup. It does not matter what goes into the box. Drive.

The shop is my favorite. I fix it myself or pull into a crappy truckstop and have them fix it. Or better yet pull into a dealer and have them at it. (That will get their attention really fast) I once pulled into savannah TA and told them to fix my AC. They said it will take between 1500 to 2000 all done to build a new replacement complete AC system, the old one is completely burned out. I say do it. They say you sure? YES, what part of do this work dont you understand?

4 hours later I called the shop telling them they have a 1500 dollar shop bill to pay today. (They exploded.) and the yelling started. But I had the check sent within the hour. I don't call the shop for *&^% unless that tractor trailer is sitting on the side of the road with half the axle sticking out and broken. Or the rears are smashed and draining all of its oil all over the highway with the Fire department answering the Hazmat cleanup. Its not my problem. The company has to deal with it. That is what they are there for. If they don't like it, they can fire me. (And have) I'll move on to a better company with a decent shop.

The failure of company issued equiptment is literally not my problem anymore. I can only do a certain amount. Beyond that it's a shop boss problem. Sometimes a tow problem or something else.

Everything else indicates a high stress level or a thin skin intolerance for the usual BS in this industry. What you have written is literally a story of about 15 of my 30 years in trucking in one form or another. The only reason things got really good for me is because I got involved with McKesson. Million dollar medicine loads disposes of alot of BS right away. Nothing but new equiptment that wont break down (Much...) and a staff very interested in making sure those drugs get there on time and safe. Everything else is simply not a complaint anymore. We don't have time for such petty BS.

This is not a attack on you personally. It's simply a part of this industry in many ways what I would expect from most any company that is not doing well. If things are that bad, you look for a better company before you get caught into trouble with this one.

I been at Mabe's since 2010. I've done all 48 states, tow trucks with boomer, and work local (and still with em). It like any other trucking companies. It has it good and it has it bad. But 1 thing I can say about Mabe's, u can't complain for not making money if u always wanna be home. Like anywhere else, u have ur good weeks and u have ur bad weeks. U help em, they help u. In 8 yrs with this company, I only been stuck out over the weekend 5xs in 8 yrs. So yea, if u wanna complain about business wanna help u and itself make money, go flip burgers for less complaints.

If you are a newbie with license they will have you sign a 6 month - $1300.00 - NO compete contract to send you with a trainer for 8 weeks. This is a dry van outfit.
