The federal regs set the minimum for employment history inquiries, which have already been posted. The companies can ask for more, and so it does vary, and that is ok. Just like the criminal history maximums allowed, or traffic violations allowed, varies from one company to the next.
You are good to go, as you have a clean driving record and no criminal record. Your application is on the top of the pile of apps the companies are looking at.
I expect you will get accepted for any driver job you apply for. Just spell out the reasons for your unemployment, if it is in the time period they want documented.
You are gold to prospective employers! Be picky about who you go with. You have what the companies want!

Trucking companies don't put highly knowledgable people answering questions form truck drivers. Not even their own drivers.

FMCSA 383.35 Driver shall provide certain contact info of previous employers the last 10 years for which he worked as a commercial driver.
Employer is only required to investigate previous 3 years employment history if not employed as commercial driver.
