I already acknowledged SOME are retired but others aren't . I never said everyone . As far as running legal goes I know how many made more miles and trips than I did when I was running legal so don't bother trying to defend them . They only took 5 or 6 hour breaks between loads . I've seen them trying to get dealers they deliver to not put the date on the bills because they got there a daily earlier than they should have been able to .
Here you go . Use Classic for an example . Look at their driver SEA history for the past 3 years .

No wonder their ISS-D is INSPECT .
Driver out of service 14.5% . More than twice the national average .

It is not just these haulers. I have seen the same in the big trucks. You can read some of the posts on here and how they run.
I do not believe that any of the big trucks run legal. It is my opinion and I believe I could find a fault in any log.
I am not one of the retired either. -
It's starting to sound like I can work for some Company, and there is a way to work in some time off, as an O/O. ( So long as I deliver a service they need; ie: on time deliveries, almost like Hot Shotting )
am I reading things bewteen the lines wrongly? -

Now is not a time to consider doing this type of work. Canada or not.
The economy has really had a major effect on the RV industry. There are some parts of the country that are still selling, but for the most part, it is lean.
RV's are not a priority and most of the loan companies have been avoiding these types of loans.
In addition, you have to be very frugal to make any money with these companies. When the freight is good, I can clear 1500 a week. Out of that, I have to pay the maintenance on the truck alot of which I do. I also have to pay the insurance, and the payment.
Since you are paying the fuel, you have to decide how you are going to drive. Personaly, loaded is about 60 to 62. Empty is about 65. -
Now maybe he/she is retired and only works one week out of the month to get away from the wifes pms week. l.o.l.
Yeah that is hard to believe! -
I have very little bills.
I was driving for a big truck and gone all week and they were only getting me less than 1500 miles a week. Worked out to about 400 a week.
I can clear 1500 week doing the RV delivery. This means I can work 2 weeks a month or less if I want.
I am not retired and work to pay bills. House is paid for. Living expense is minimal compared to many at my age.
Last summer I took 6 weeks off.Last edited: Mar 23, 2009
