Where should the gps be placed?

Don't believe I'd give that guy a ticket. A seat belt around his arm would hold on better than two belts around my shoulders.

I mount it low as possible near center of windshield.
Never had a problem at inspection ports or scale houses.

I GPS is mounted as if it was a rear view mirror. It's out of the way, unobtrusive, and high enough so that it isn't in my field of view. I also have my seat on the floor so I actually look slightly up at it.
As for the exemption/waiver?
FMCSA grants waiver to allow GPS mounting on windshields in ‘safety technology’ area -
Anytime anyone asks where to put something I reference this. If anyone’s wondering at what age you grow out of crude, corny jokes, it’s not 33!

OK I admit it mine is in my cup holder because I never could figure out how to use that suction cup thing
