You should also check the cam follower gaskets on these engines. We run 3 of these engines in the woods. Very reliable and easy to work on can not go wrong.

    ChevyCam Thanks this.

I know this thread is old, but here's a "little" update. I bought the truck last February, and have run it now for a year. It's been repainted a couple of times under me and has made us some pretty good money. I've changed out the transmission output seal, which was leaking, and haven't had any more problems with that. All shocks everywhere replaced, along with cab leveling valve (which was upside down originally and cracked, so who knows how long since that's been aired up.) All new tires except steers. Truck originally came with two 22" rims on the rear where there should have been 24's, but got those switched out through the dealer. I tore down a small bit of the top end and cleaned up the jakes, replaced exhaust man gaskets, replaced turbo for brand new one, and am getting ready to tighten up cam followers plate, as well as re-seal the accessory drive. Still getting a bit of oil or maybe fuel from the exhaust man, though.

    ChevyCam Thanks this.
