My boy has turned in his notice and will be here on the 9th of March. Yeah, I'm stoked!

Loading in Aurora tomorrow morning and doing a dedicated up to Columbus OH. I'll get back Thursday so I can see my youngest son's speech on Friday morning.

The oldest is studying the NC CDL manual so he can get his permit the Monday after he arrives. I have him doing practice tests on here, and he is doing well.

Any possibility that you might be able to train him or is he going in a different direction?

I'd love to be his trainer and have no doubts that I'm more capable than many trainers in the business. However, this is trucking and some companies believe years of experience in trucking makes a good trainer. Superior requires 5 years in trucking.

I will avoid sharing my views on that since I have more time training others in more complex and dangerous tasks than the vast majority of their trainers ever will.

Well, some terminals at superior have driver trainers with less than 5 years in trucking. Don’t ask me how I know, just know that I know. I’ve been training at superior since 2012, and trucking since 1996, so l know a little something

Did the dedicated run to Columbus OH and made it back to have Valentine's day with my wife on Thursday. Friday I watched my youngest boy take second in his speech competition. He advances to district next. We have worked on that for a month of home times.

Today I'm getting under another dedicated load for delivery on Monday in Indianapolis. I'll head out this afternoon and enjoy easy drives for two days so that I can get in position to run hard empty back towards the barn.

Sitting in Spiceland Indiana at the 123. That's 52 miles from tomorrow's delivery.

Will be having dinner with one of our first year drivers. He came to us from the Marines. Guy is out killing it. He runs the system for 6 weeks at a time. Now that's rolling up some money belt.

Got home from another dedicated run last night. I've been doing a lot of dedicated runs lately. That's been my choice.

There's just a bunch of stuff I'm getting done on the home front. I'm looking forward to getting back out in the system for a couple of weeks. That'll be after my son gets here. Until then, I'm cleaning out the room above the garage and getting it ready for him .My wife also has a rather lengthy list for me to get to also.

    PostmanMJC and 77fib77 Thank this.

Been doing alot of shuffling work sometimes 5-6 trailers a day it's getting old... have done a few out and back overnights but I'm getting really frustrated and looking to move on from superior I think. I'm hopeful its just because of my home terminal but between issues with dispatch messing me up then trying to blame me for it and having major truck issues I'm ready to move on if I find something. I really wanted it to be a one and done company but my experience hasn't been great.

Truck I'm issued has major electrical issues keeps blowing marker light bulbs... sometimes if you put on the turn signal with high beams on the headlights blink with the signal, the air horn gets stuck on if you try to use it.... just a laundry list of problems that Mr. DOT won't like. Tried to write it up multiple times then they "assure" me it's fixed within a half hour of running it the problems come back... putting in a replacement bulb for the burned out one isn't fixing the underlying issues. Also still don't have a inverter in the truck to use my CPAP machine, already got stuck out once without it due to snow which they again tried to blame me for.

Biggest thing I'm seeing with superior is things seem to really be terminal to terminal. I loved it up in Maine where I was for 3 weeks training, and they had a shop on the property..... problems got resolved instantly. I really really truly wanted to stay till I retired with them but I gotta protect my CDL and I'm entry level which already means I'm under a microscope. Think its time to search for greener pastures :( I know understand why new jersey has such trouble with finding drivers and drivers leaving for other terminals......

Glad they are giving you the flexibility to bounce back and forth.
I am spending the weekend at my son's house. Did a short cruise last week. Going to install an attic tent over his cieling access stairs to save him a little money on the heat and cooling bills
