I think most trucking schools can help you get a very good discount if you want a room for yourself. When I was an independent contractor, I paid $40 for the room using the company’s discount in Dallas. By the way, if you see someone snoring to the point they are waking themselves up constantly, you should tell them to get checked at a sleep center for sleep apnea. That’s a serious health problem in trucking.
Are there any companies that don't make you share a hotel room?

Yes. I was the only one at orientation lol.
Nice hotel too. -
It sounded like it. On top of the loud snoring, I frequently heard loud breathing and the occasional gasping. I was thinking of waking him up and saying, "dude, you alright?"PE_T Thanks this.

If you don’t mind sharing, what did Werner put on your DAC that required you to go to Western Express? Even Swift would have paid you orientation and training pay.

At TSMT in 1968, lead company drivers paid the bills to be reimbursed later. My lead driver paid for his room so that he could work his Sunday Lesson, and he paid for my room so that I could watch TV. There were other extravagances, but Tri-State never complained. Of course, in 1970 they went non-union.

System transport also buys you your own room. The thought of sharing a room with a stranger just sounds miserable.
Bluedew Thanks this. -
Koch put you in a 4 star hotel too all alone and fly you to orientation

upgrade yourself with CR England, they have 2 trainees in one truck with a trainer. they do have 3 bed bunks to share. thought you might like this option better

I parallel-parked on a street near my house and tore down a tree in the process. They wrote that down as, "damaged property / equipment."
I backed into a store and dented the door. Again, "damaged property / equipment."
I hit a tree branch and scratched the paint on the side of the trailer. Now this one, I still don't understand. They wrote it as, "struck overhead object," but the branch wasn't "over" me, it was "next to" me. Also, there was a dent in the trailer from when a previous driver hit a building, but they blamed me for it, just because it happened to be on the same side as the scratches. Still don't know how that driver got away with it... -
Why would you even work for a company that thinks it's okay for you to share a hotel room with a stranger? Unless you're desperate for the job, find a company that treats you like a professional. This is a sign of things to come! But to answer your question... yes there are companies that provide a single room.
