Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

But at this point in the process I can't afford one ..
I actually had a bunch to do in the new truck as I got a smokers truck and it REALLY stinks! So I've been wiping down the walls etc and it is getting better. Otherwise a nice T600 with 313K miles .. not bad at all. Still need an inverter but cash is limited right now. -
Here's my truck, Kenworth T600, and my truckin' dog Sasha somewhere in NC ...

Looks great! Thanks! I see those red CFI trucks around here all the time. Drive safe and let us know how you're doing.

Anyone heard from Tinman? How's he doing?

Hey Andrew!
Hope you are well. I am off the road now. Quit Conway in June and moved to Louisville CO .. near Boulder. Working construction again and restarting my life. I made it 1.5 yrs and about 160K miles. Left on good terms and can go back if I even lose my mind again .. hehehe. This was always my plan and it worked well. I did a foreclosure/bankruptcy right after I started driving and then lived in the truck and saved money for my life 're-start'. My credit is back in the 650 range already. Driving was ok but the lifestyle was not. I was missing out on too much life. I'm now able to go backpacking, rock climbing, run triathlons and marathons, play music in bars, etc that was impossible as a driver.
While Conway had some issues, I did very well and had few real complaints .. plus I had Gretchen, probably the best fleet manager on Earth!!! .. That really helps!
Take care!

Steve,
You set a goal and accomplished it. That's gotta feel pretty good. For the last two years, I've been saving and working a second job to accomplish my goal, which is drive a truck. I'm almost there! I grew up in trucking, and I know the lifestyle is not for everyone, not even half of everyone, but I'm impressed that you stuck it out for a year and a half in order to meet a goal.
I've heard ConWay may be taking some solo students again in the future. If so, I will give them strong consideration and hope they'll give me the same.
You've moved to a BEAUTIFUL part of the country. I hope you enjoy this "new life". Way to go and good luck!

Does Con-Way do hair follicle drug testing or just the DOT?
Thanks........ -
why would you worry if a company does follicle hair testing?
