Any time you're not employed or pay decreases while employed by no fault of your own is possible to collect on. The thing is it could take 8 weeks or more to receive a payment IF your case is deemed eligible. All cases are looked in to.

Yeah, unemployment is so SLOW, I usually try not to rely on it. When I tried to collect unemployment after being fired by Werner Enterprises, it took three months for them to send me a letter saying I was denied because of "willful malicious behavior," which they claimed was the reason I was fired. I later challenged their claim and it was ruled in my favor. It took another month and a half to receive $300.

    Hmm let's see...
    Car insurance: $270
    Car loan: $215

Yeah, I can kiss my 2006 Nissan Altima goodbye...

I talked to Maverick last summer, and they said six months, not two years.

If you stay on their butt they're quicker. I've gotten a payment in a month after filing because I called 3 weeks after filing and not hearing anything. They sent payment right away the next week because the company didn't dispute it.

Call your auto finance and explain the situation. You're not the only person having a hard time keeping up with their Bills. Companies included. So there's a lot more leniency and places are more willing to work with people than lose a customer.

The washout rate at Western Express is pretty high during orientation. People who failed drug tests. Or weren’t truthful with their history etc. I saw it happen first hand. The number of drivers with sleep apnea who didn’t come prepared is also extensive from what I saw. I can understand why they don’t want to pay for orientation.

Orientation runs the first couple days of the week. After you’re placed with a trainer you get paid for everyday you log into the QC. Pay period ends on Saturday Central time. If you get with a trainer on Wednesday and you log in Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday you will get a check the following Friday for those days. Then Thursday morning after 6am you’ll get an email that has your paystub etc in it in a pdf. My pay normally goes through just after midnight so Friday when I wake up my direct deposit has arrived.

My pay has always been right on unless I made an error transfloing or whatever. Payroll dept is always helpful and quick in helping me get it fixed.

@lovesthedrive i was stunned to read your post. I know we interact on other threads. I respect you as well. I got a PM from a user here and I wrote off what you said before I knew it was you. I don’t know what to say. You’re not the type to make #### up. Could you explain further so I can watch out, or you can PM or call me if you’d prefer. Thanks and sorry for your BS you had to put up with.

    Zoltan1a and lovesthedrive Thank this.

This kind of crap from these bottom feeding carriers really turns my stomach. I'm not blaming the driver, but I do blame the carrier for not making sure their new drivers "fully understand" what to expect. Even the low paid company recruiter knows how much they are going to be paid on Friday. If a driver came to the orientation and is available and waiting...for crap sakes bottom feeder companies, at least pay them minimum wage for waiting!

Sorry for the rant. My last company had to go to court over this very issue. The company has since changed their policy.

Don't all the training companies do that?
