Thank you so much for the info!
If you dont mind asking couple more questions about Schneider, one, if I wanna go with the Schneider as a first time owner op, u think it's better for me to go with the Schneider finance than lonemountain? Not quite sure how their payment system work versus lonemountain. Right now I've been offered 7500 down with 1900 monthly for next 4 yrs for 2016 volvo 780 with 350k miles. 2nd, the 30 min annual driving skill check with the trainer, is it just driving around the block doing pre/post inspections with backing? Not that I dont have confidence but I just would like to know in advance what to expect. I really, really wanna like Schneider, if I can average 1.80 a mile, I think I'll be ok with that. I know we can 'negotiate' the rates at landstar, I understand sometimes u might end up with higher rates but when it comes to average rates, I think 1.80 sounds about right for most of us. Apologize if I sound too rookie! I'm just nervous!! -
Well, to begin with $1.80 is too much to expect out of the box. If I were to do a budget, I'd plan on $1.30 - $1.40. It takes a while to learn where and where not to go and what and what not to haul.
As far as your truck goes, I'd go with Lone Mountain with this understanding, make sure it meets Schneiders specs first. It doesn't matter if it's Schneider or Landstar. There's going to be flaming hoops you have to jump through.
You need to find your company before you find your truck.
Good luckDave_in_AZ and Bono84 Thank this. -
Just take a trip advance.

Are you with the landstar? How do you like it there compared to Schneider?

He's the best person to ask
Dave_in_AZ and Bono84 Thank this. -
I was never an O/O at Schneider. So I can't objectively answer that.
-
Sorry guys, any company that has you doing ride checks as an owner operator is not a good place to be, no excuse when you pay for insurance and you own the truck.
Op look around for a truck, do you due diligence before you commit to it.mwhjr1988 and win-some-loose-less Thank this. -
