true on the health and beauty regs. Volunteering to drive a privately owned [de-commissioned school bus} owned by a local church might still fall under MYOB...school buses over 10 years old can't be used for student transportation and do fall under regulations when transporting day workers around the warehouses but a church buss, I'm not so sure that counts.

    correct.

would you realistically believe that any driver out here, logs any income/work he does away from his regular job?

    i never did.

Sure you can. Being 100% legit you can only cut hair for 20 hours a week. Or go the cash route & get caught by the irs and end up in a heap of trouble for tax evasion.

Personally, i’d cut hair for as many hours as you like, not tell anybody at work you’re doing it, and leave your hos in your truck. **If something happens, the company’s insurance gets sued, not you... not personally. I’ve moonlighted before, i’ve also kept my mouth shut about it.

Any compensated work needs to be logged as "on duty/not driving". It counts against your work hours for the current cycle.

In the real world if you don't tell anybody it most likely won't come back on you. Many drivers have non driving side gigs on the weekends and don't log any of it. A friend of mine who was an owner operator did own a pizza place with his brother and would sometimes work there on his off days. He was pulled into a scale house in PA and DOT looked at his log book and he was logged off duty the day before and told the cop he was working in his pizza place and the DOT cop gave him a falsified log book ticket and told him off duty was off duty and he was working and should have logged it . Needless to say he shut his mouth
and never volunteered any information after that. The DOT cop was a little prick who I had run ins with in the past and knew just who it was when he told me about it. Don't live scared , just cover your ### . All cops break the law everyday, speed , talk on hand held cell phones while driving and the list goes on.....
No successful person I ever knew followed all the rules,
They are calculated risk takers, and bend them when necessary. They understand the "rules" are made by bureaucratic clowns who are the most crooked people in society. People who crave to be "good boys " and crave the pat on their head by following all the rules usually are brain washed by people trying to control them and fear.
Go cut hair and keep it to yourself, and if it ever became an issue just deal with it and move on , the world won't end. Most people are paralyzed by the "What ifs" and never do anything significant in life and are the first to chime in how many ways you can fail, and get in " trouble". I'm not saying be reckless, but think about it,a guy can cut and stack firewood for 15
Hours a day on his days off at his home for no money and log off duty and be fine ,but you can't give a few hair cuts and make a few bucks ,ridiculous...
