First fill up after the overhaul was 4.2 so there is progress .
Throw in always heavy , hilly terrain, constant snow and bitter cold ...windy as hell it's hard to say what it will actually do and have a baseline .
Brad Morehouse commented to me his 100 or so cascadias and t680s all Cummins powered with apu,s and governed at 68 are way down on fuel mileage also ...its been a nasty winter .
I wont be making any mechanical changes until we are out of this weather and done with blended fuel .
Looked back on last winter's numbers which wasn't that bad and mpg hung in the low 6s.
I dont think anything is wrong .wore out, Shock Therapy, Feedman and 6 others Thank this. -
They are always near gross running the Rockies and such, so you should beat their numbers.
Speed is a lot though. Used to be rule of thumb was 5mph equal 1mpg.Shock Therapy, Feedman, Panhandle flash and 2 others Thank this. -
Shock Therapy, Feedman, Panhandle flash and 3 others Thank this.

Last winter is what got me. Didn't matter which way I was going, there was a nice gentle 200 mph breeze in my face or crosswind.
Was just looking up going, "Really?"Shock Therapy, Feedman and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
Shock Therapy and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

By the way Dave how is your truck running ?
Shock Therapy, Panhandle flash and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Wrench doesn't have InSight. And I'm not dropping $300 for Freightliner to tell me some BS.
I can tell how it pulls if there's a problama.
Mpg is still well above 7. Usually 7.5
About to clock 600K. Uses 1 gallon oil right at 10K miles.
Probably get a set of drives soon. These are coming up on 200K.
Clutch is ok. I float 90%.
Fingers crossed. Do another oil sample this time too.
These Bridgestone steers are the cats whiskers.
Do shocks when I get drives. Driveline gives some vibration when it's really working coming out of the hole upshifting heavy.
I have wrench and alignment shop, they specialize in drivelines too, go over it all the time. They're all like "It's fine. Really. Go away."Shock Therapy, Feedman and bzinger Thank this. -
Now truck 2 with the Detroit and 3.25 rears, that mofo will get 8 all day at 67mph.
Shock Therapy, Feedman, Panhandle flash and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not running to the shop over it lol.Shock Therapy, Dave_in_AZ, Feedman and 1 other person Thank this.
