Casper is about to clock 600K. ISX death engine. 2012.
So far so good.
Replaced aftertreatment wiring harness $1800. DPF $1800. Turbo sensor $800. Fan clutch sensor $300.
I have an APU. I think your nuts to have a DEF truck with no APU.
No matter what, everyone eats a "one box" that's the DOC, at 700K to 800K. That little gem is 8 to 10 grand. Doesn't matter which engine / truck.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the Paccar engine? Truck has warranty on engine and aftet treatment
-
I went with a freightliner with a Detroit because of lower parts and maintenance costs and dependablit y. pacar parts are higher and dependability is up there with Cummings, the mercedes built trucks seem to ride as good as the pacar built ones .

Why don’t you buy like a 3 yr old 680 with a Cummins and 300k miles on it? Prob spend 75 or 80k and then go buy the Cummins XT1 2nd owner warranty for $4500. Def your best bet. -

Detroit all day, at the shop i park at, all i see is Pete’s and Kenworths with Cummins being worked on, Only 3 Freightliners i have seen past year in there and 2 of them was mine for minor work.

Got a 16 Pete 579 w paccar mx 13 and 330k. Mine has been a good setup. The only thing I will complain about is the plastic oil pan. Blown 2 out but covered by warranty. Crack in first one and gasket blew out a week later on the replacement. My truck has a 500k warrenty on it but it is leased thru Pete so that might have something to do with it.
