It’s all really simple;
The population of this country is exploding; people everywhere and always in each other’s way.
In my lifetime, the US population alone has more than doubled.
That ‘doubling’ is now expected to double yet again in just half the time. And so on.
As a result, and along with a realization of a general sense of decay in our entire democratic system, human life is becoming very cheap and common. Hence the behaviors toward one another that revolve around a growing disrespect and an utter contempt.
Most of us are all pretty much just one national catastrophe (or even just the threat of one) away from shooting each other, or running each other down with our vehicles, without hesitation.
And eagerly anticipating every moment of it.
You see it all around you everywhere, every day.Last edited: Mar 11, 2019

Gas stations are a good example.No customers for an hour, then 1 customer, suddenly 4 or 5.A lot of the actions I see boil down to a Me First mentality, also notice a lot of cut throat Drivers in high dollar vehicles. Competitive nature? Or selfish behavior? Total disregard for others. Sense of entitlement, I’m more important than You.

Beyond pollution, the greatest effect of the population may be an increasing number of demented people, in addition to those who are temporarily demented by phones, or other distractions, disturbances, and substances, I guess. The U.S. burden of Alzheimer’s disease related dementias is expected to double by 2060, and up to half of the world's population is infected by toxoplasmosis (which also causes dementia)... "One of the most challenging aspects of dementia care is the assessment of driving safety. Drivers with dementia are at higher risk of motor vehicle collisions, yet many drivers with mild dementia might be safely able to continue driving for several years."
Besides missing some stop signs, I think demented people follow the same pattern (because it's a demented pattern, as far as being in their worst interests, to the point that people trained to keep a distance won't). More often than not, the greater following distance I try to give a vehicle, the more erratically it drives, to slow down when nothing's ahead of it (or start to turn and then stop and block half the lane, seemingly to stay in the way somehow), as if I'm driving them crazy, because they can't get their 'gravitation fix'. Take the same driver and put them behind me, and they'll be speeding until they can tailgaite something. Maybe I should call it gravattraction. I think it's comparable to adverse weather too (or make that adverse gravity), when people drive as if they're forming a storm cloud everywhere. The cosmic forces are at play, methinks.Last edited: Mar 12, 2019
Reason for edit: I could also compare the exploding poopulation to a digestive process, but let's not go there!Bud A., USMC '74-'78 Semper Fi, tinytim and 1 other person Thank this.
