Currently own a 96’ 9400 that the previous owner did a hood replacement on that looks older than other 9400s i see on the road. I really like the look of the 9900 hood and grill and was curious to know he feasible the swap would be if possible at all.
I found a few complete hoods for a grand give or take.
Thanks for your input.

Post a pic of your hood/truck

A picture is worth a thousand words what’s this hood look like?
Not sure if a 9900 hood will fit that old of a cab maybe a 9370 would be a better fit on that cab.ChevyCam Thanks this. -
A 9400 truck is a set back front axle truck.
A 9900 truck is a set forward front axle truck.
The hoods won't interchange, two totally different trucks.ChevyCam Thanks this. -
Picture for reference. With the steers so close to the bumper I thought maybe the truck had a set forward front axle like the older 9900?
Here is the truck.
Thank you for the replies.Attached Files:

I bought a 1997 9300 6 months ago and have yet to see another hood like mine going down the road
As you can see mine has no upper body line which I like. Just have never spotted another hood like it yet.
Is it an after market hood or did they only do it like that for one year ?
Sorry for the hijack , just seemed like a appropriate thread to bring my issue up.Last edited: Mar 13, 2019
