They don’t have water, they currently are at war with Nevada for the water rights of the Colorado River.

5th largest yes but in debt so it’s null and void.

Other things California imports as well but I’m to lazy to write it.

    I lived there for 30 years it’s a #### hole.

They might have the 5th largest economy, but cut out their consumers in the rest of the country then I doubt their so strong.

You could have a hundred trucks and trailers but if you cut 80% of all your potential consumer base, what does it mater how many trucks you have.

I’d be interested to know, the percentage of California based products that are bought domestically in CA compared to the rest of the US,

Take even produce for example, the oranges, walnuts, almonds etc,,, who eats all of that?? I don’t think Californians eat all of that. So if there’s no trucks and rail out of CA, I think the demand for their high economy would go down significantly

You do realize that more than half of that economy is maintained and relies on produce and trucks don’t you? Oh, and those ports. Tech won’t save you. It’s coming apart at the seams now lol

Trucks stop... and you’ll be the 5th smallest economy. BTW, you’re 6th. But we understand that math and comprehensive reading aren’t part of the public education system there.

    Few points...

    1. If that guy is operating that old of a truck in CA then what does he expect? Far as I knew I can’t even take a 2010 emissions into CA? That’s one thing I hate about bs regulations and stupid states like CA that push them. Either enforce it or dont make it to begin with. All you do is penalize those of us that actually comply with your bs.

    2. As others have said I’d make sure it’s not a fake. California is rampant with fraud and scams.

    3. If CA is so big and powerful economicly then why are they basically bankrupt?

Excepting electric power. They do not have enough to sustain themselves. I remember during 2000 I had to treat some very major intersections up to 5 pathways, dozens of lanes filled with cars going everywhere (Trucks too) as one gigantic stop sign.

California does not dare cut down anymore hardwoods. They need it from the rest of the USA. Thank God we can grow a ####load of it. Good Timber is one thing we wont run out of.

The water rights originate to the Spanish Missions long before Columbus arrived along the Arizona Territory and has roots in Mexican Law and Tradition. If you are a landowner with original water rights you dictate who gets what, how much and when.

For our purposes that was changed around 1846 when we settled the Mexican war with the concession of all territory up to Oregon, along the rio grande and down into Texas to control of the USA from Mexico Rule. Everything would then have to be rewritten.

As far as California, they are for the first time as of a few days ago have no drought anywhere. The problem is this. All of the water falling on the state now anywhere is allowed to run off into the ocean. They lose so much water this way. Then you wonder why they cry and slap dust with a empty well in years of hard times.

    Getting to the topic finally...

I think the owners knew darn well they got stepped on. Took a while for that squeaking violating government wheel to come around to them in particular. Well here we are.

Two things is sure in my life time. California wants to ban all Diesel trucks and probably trains too if they can get away with it.. from the State. Second, at some point even my Tahoe will not be legal to go into California with it's gigantic 25 gallon gasoline tanker in the back and a few drips here and there which is normal for that vehicle and for what I carry refills in seal containers. In short, I would expect to be banned from CA someday because I lead a dirty life by their rules. I refuse to sell for a better vehicle and so on. It will be a while.

A petridish comes to mind with a failed Economy as big as that with so many people. It actually hurts me to share this thought because I remember so many happy carefree years in California with some of the people there who were wonderful. More better for us than we have every right to expect. I remember one in particular. If I had made arrangements to date and marry her, we would have a dozen kids and no time for this internet stuff. But anyway...

Back to the dish. You take california in it, cover it up and wait a while. You find just like a fish aquarium when no one takes care of themselves or the land or the state etc it slowly gums up and crusts over until it's truly fithy and needy from the rest of the USA.

I don't see the other states in this bad of a shape just yet, Cook County excluded. And maybe DC as well. They have corrupted themselves so much there.

California is a beautiful state that has been ruined politically and
Economically on a state level . When I was young I used to race motocross and it was always my dream to move to Southern California, the Mecca (at the time ) for motocross racing . I was offered a dream gig a few years ago to move to L A and run a motorcoach division for the entertainment industry. A friend of mine owns Shooting star coaches in NY that supplies motorhomes for tv and movie shoots, fashion shoots , big events etc. I have worked a lot for him ,doing a lot of those events, mostly in the Northeast. It’s pretty cool work , a lot of hanging out and long hours , but very good money. He makes crazy money , $180 hr plus mileage, and that was a few years ago .He wanted to start up in LA and wanted me to run it for him . I told him no.
I would have killed for that chance when I was in my 20’s. I couldn’t picture living in the social and political climate of todays California and the ridiculous cost of living and taxes
created by the insanely liberal politicians and rampant
Illegal immigration and the burden it puts on the schools , hospitals , social welfare systems etc, all put on the backs
Of the hard working people trying to make ends meet. Every
Politician they send to Washington is the biggest liberal goofball
you can imagine. Theyre emmision laws are ridiculous, and they are trying to make Diesel engines illegal at some point in the future and are working on legislature currently to that effect.
Economically they’re a mess with so much debt, unfunded pension programs that they don’t have the money to pay, swamped social welfare systems , being over run by illegal aliens and ridiculous taxes trying to pay for it all to keep getting
elected by the people ransacking the system.
