    I guess I'm about the only one left in here anymore....I had a decent week, fairly busy. Just a couple of rounds to Alabama and back like normal, having some trailer issues that need addressed first thing tomorrow. I got new brakes on my front axle a few weeks back when I went in to get my annual inspection done, but for some reason they didn't put new drums on as well and now the combination of the new brakes and old drums are causing the front axle to lock up when empty(at least that's the theory right now), we'll see.

    I rode some moto yesterday which was a blast, a total new layout at Tampa MX which was very reminiscent of a supercross track, it took me a few moto's to get used to it but by the end of the day I had the rhythms down pretty good. Hope everyone(who's left) has a good week.

    Sounds like not a bad week all in all. Glad things are going good. I don’t chime in much anymore because my current job now is so mind numbingly boring. I run Linehaul from KC to St. Louis every night. So there’s really not much to say. Van trailers and a cookie cutter Freightliner. BUT everyone’s good friend @blade got me hooked up with a new job and it’ll be on the bulk side of things more so thank God for him, and for having something to discuss in the near future.

    Do you like the Supercross style track or are you a more of a moto guy? I always liked the outdoor longer tracks better when I rode them, but honestly most of my moto experience was in the woods as I was a hare scrambler. My cousin in St. Louis had a buddy (who unfortunately passed due to a nasty MX wreck), who had a HUGE farm and an outdoor track, a woods set up, and he did Arenacross and had an arenacross track inside the MX loop. And dude you wanna talk terrifying. The face of jumps are like straight up. They just kick you up so high. I never got used to clickin a gear up and pinning it toward a wall jump basically. I recorded the Indy SX last night but I dunno what happened, halfway thru the 450 heat 2 it stopped recording. :mad:

    Typically all the tracks in Florida, public anyway, are more motocross. They're nothing to take lightly, most all of them have pretty big jumps on them separating the beginner crowd from the more advanced riders, but Tampa has always lent itself to more of a SX track. Every thursday before Daytona supercross, they put on a big pro am race and rebuild the track to emulate a sx, they leave that layout up for a while and that's what I rode yesterday. I enjoy it, it takes a lot of skill, not just guts to jump the big stuff. I'm older now, so I have to know my limits, but I'd say yesterday was one of the most fun days I've had riding.

    As far as getting back to some bulk work @motocross25 that's good to hear, we have some decent freight places close to where I live, I just can't see myself doing cookie cutter work. That's what I like about my frameless, it takes guts, and a lot of thinking and troubleshooting to do the job well. Everyday is a challenge, it's not just an up and down the road kind of job. Good luck with your new venture.

    Ok help me out please somebody I know has the right answer .........Ok I’m getting into the end dump business and all I read is trailers tipping over left and right . Also the insurance for a new business venture for end dump is crazy ! I’ll be running east coast and mid west so I’ve been reading up on belt trailers ? So I was wondering if I go the belt trailer route what can and can’t I haul ? And should I stick with 40 foot end dump or go belt trailer ? I’ll be hauling a wide verity from landscape ag to feed , fertilizer , corn Ect . Please I need advice from experience truckers here ! Thanks

    @iamfargo ive seen walking floors do it all from scrap to fertilizer!! Frankly I think it is a matter of what you prefer. In my opinion if this is the segment you are wanting to venture dumps allow you more flexibility on what you can haul. It’s also gonna be faster unloading a dump. If a guy put anchor pins in a dump he could haul coils in certain situations. Or haul palletized freight in other situations that’s not possible in a belt or but I think you meant walking floor.. if you did mean belt you will definitely be limiting what you can haul in my opinion if you don’t have contracts or connects!!

    I'm thinking it would be smarter to lease on to a carrier for a year or 2 before you venture on your own. This way it'll give you a chance to learn the brokers and get comfortable running a dump. Plus when it comes time to get insurance, you'll have some experience to show the underwriters.

    Yes dumps do tip over, it happens. But if you follow a couple of guidelines, you'll lesson your chances. I only pulled a dump for 4 months, but I asked as many questions from experienced guys every chance I had. In the end, I'm a tanker yanker at heart.

    @blade Hate that you are getting out of the biz but we still would enjoy hearing from you. I have been SUPER busy not complaining mind you.
    @Trashtrucker1707
    Hi ya'll! Sorry I have been MIA. I bought another truck, sold the old one been getting the "new one" situated for dump trucking. I haven't had time to even think about getting on here. I didn't mean to worry everyone. I'm good. The weather was really close but jumped over my place, (thank you Jesus) just rain and wind.
    Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll post more. I just wanted to check on ya'll. Be safe and have a good ride. Happy Trails
