Only 2 years into it? I say get out while you still can.
buddyd157 and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
im so glad i dont run 3000 miles a week anymore. after 2300 miles im wore out

Where do you live? Where do I have to go? I moved from va to pa and I hate it. I was told by Chinatown that van kampen or frock bros would hire in my area, neither one of them would. I'm just lost. I will move anywhere that will allow me to make decent money, not run me in areas that I am terrified of and 3000 + a week

Advances must stop.
You run what they give you. If it means cabbage in a winter storm so be it.
You set aside a percentage of expected pay per loads delivered. That's your savings. You don't touch it no matter what. Eventually you will be well ahead so it wont matter if you had a bad month or say a 9-11 event that destroyed our payroll for a number of weeks.
I have said for years that anything in the .30's is insufficient pay for a trucker. In the 80's it would be awesome pay, but inflation and cost of living etc ate all that way you need to get close to or past .50
One solution is to stop trucking a few months and take on a second job at a fast food somewhere until you have a couple thousand saved up. Then get back into it with that as a foundation of savings you add to. Never take advances. Ever. Sometimes companies fire people for borrowing money too much. They are a trucking company not a bank.truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
How about working for a company that has a guaranteed minimum pay every week. You can make more if you run the miles but they take all the risk if it's a slow week.
BigDog Trucker and tscottme Thank this. -
No, no, I think you are somehow mistaken. Taking those mountains only got me the same pay I make not running them so, yeah, no, I am not gonna run them if the money is the same if I don't. Prime screwed me, badly. I didnt say I wouldn't I'm just saying if the money is the same then......why?! I think I am just inexperienced and dont really know any better and I have been getting bad advice which is......why I am posting........thanks

That is a great suggestion! I have looked into shipex but I heard they will fire u for the smallest thing. I'm always on time but I am human...ihuman...i make mistakes. Do u know anything about them other than the posts about u having to be a subhuman driver? Or in? I heard they have a minimum pay but they will constantly wake u up during ur 10 hrs to relay?! What do u know about any of them? Anything? Thanks
