Talking about the school in Sun Prairie? They didn't tell my hubby that, if that is the one you are talking about.

He regulary did 34 hour resets, and never caught flak from his company or any LEO's that checked his log book.

A good friend of ours is a former instructor from there, and he never told guys that either.

I went to school there under the old HOS rules, so that wouldn't have even come up.

To the person who asked yes it is the one in SunPrairie.

For the person who asked about Jerry, He's going on strong. He is mainly handling classroom now.

I went before the slowdown started.

I don't have anything against the school or Jerry or anyone. Jerry taught the hours of service. He also mentioned driving California a couple times so he could have caught a couple of the California agents like the prior post.

I posted just to verify whether what he was saying was still the norm in the industry. As I see on the thread a few people finally posted on the other side one mentioning Cali and the other the companies that don't want it.

I appreciate all the posts on here. I should be going back in June to finish up so if anyone wants me to say hi for them pm me.

Jerry . . . I remember him. He was my road instructor back in 1999, and my hubby's road instructor back in 2007. He was a good road instructor. He's a tough one, but that comes from having been an army drill instructor.

California is a PITA state for just about anything, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was them.

I still pop out to the school once in awhile, since Red and my dad go way, way back.

I still don't get it. Now, realize that all I know is the old rulebook, but since when did resting up and resetting your clock present a problem to anyone but the guy who wants to be driving or the company who wants him driving (illegally)?
    Am I missing something here?

    Nope........ not missing nothin.
I have never been to driving school, but have seen time after time, instructors brainwash new drivers into thinking they (the instructors) are gods gift to trucking, when in fact, the reason they are there is they couldnt get a job anywhere else.

It took you 2 years to find out that "All duty staus changes" mean ALL changes in duty status?

Stops under 15 minutes should be flagged, although I haven't met a driver yet that does it. Myself included. LOL
