Cause gliders are not allowed in Cali. And there is a bunch of good paying freight coming out of (or running through) Cali.

Doing the glider thing would totally hose my business model. Not sure it would be much better for Dave.

It's not even the freight out of the communist state now. It's the stuff that's delivered.

Cause he wants a brand new truck. Not a rebuilt piece of #### hoopty. A pre egr rebuilt or reman even factory reman will never be good as new.

Want isn't as much as weighing need. If the fuel numbers were there for the X15, probably already done it.

Just need more room in here.

But, the reports from the ISX rebuilds with updated liners and pistons seem to be pretty positive.

My thing with gliders is at the end of day the engines are still used. You have no way of knowing what shape the block is really in. Was the head plug welded to repair a crack etc. Servicable limits and new are a long way apart

I agree. But rebuilding an engine you know the history of is completely different from paying new price for a maybe. I have seen glider blocks that look horrible from electrolysis. 1 Cummins they had to cut so far that each shim had to be fit to the cylinder beside it. To much of a gamble for me.

I don't have a dog in the race i will keep using my 28 year old heap. Used is used and at least with this one there are no surprises

I just rebuilt my e model cat, 1.8 million on the clock and it doesn't have counter bores and is still running the original crank as far as I know. Nothing I've heard from the new engines compares to that but you rarely hear the good stuff on the internet.

I asked wrench how many times he could rebuild a 60. He said infinite, but he wouldn't feel good about a crank past 2 million.
