I do my driveline and slack adjusters every 5000 miles. I do the whole truck every 15,000 when I change the oil. I agree whith the other guys statements, grease is cheap compared to what it costs to replace all 5 u-joints. Also when you are under there you might just see something else that could turn into a problem down the road somewhere. I only use the Mystic red hi-temp grease.

Personally I was raised in Trucking and learned from a young age
that a grease worm never killed anything. It still applies today some 40 years later.Current average work ethics prevent many trucks from lasting much longer then a domestic built 4 wheeler.
I have never seen a grease-able mechanical part or assembly fail on any truck or trailer thats been owned in our 112 year combined families experience.
No such thing as to much or to frequent, plenty could be said on what
exactly is "Proper Greasing" ? The 2 pump theory isn't valid.Disturbed Canuck and 04 LowMax Thank this. -
i grease at least once between oil changes.i also pump it till i see some new grease come out.you can not grease to much.

Exactly !
Whats the benefit of adding a small amount of grease ?
Proper greasing ensures all(majority) of the used grease and contaminates like dirt and water to be displaced allowing the fresh grease to do its job.Crotts Trucking Thanks this. -
Definately every week, or like everyone els said after a long run in the rain, or a day or two after a snow storm,

I hit mine every other week, go easy on the throw out bearing. My bell housing was a mess when i put a clutch in it, i was definitely over greasing that.

I grease ours every 4000 miles, change the oil every 12,000, but we are short-haul, load and unload 6-8 times a day, lots of starting and stopping and turning and see lots of gravel, dust and mud. I was always told you can't over grease a u-joint. Like d-man said, take it easy on the clutch, and don't over grease the s-cam bushings or the grease will go out and get on the brake shoes. I generally use almost a whole tube doing one truck.

like d-man said go easy on the throw out just a half a pump on that will go a long way, also when you grease your steeraxle kingpins get the steer tires off the ground and hit them pretty good with grease i use to do all the pms on my fathers trucks and trailers and greased everything at the end of each drivers tour of dutie at that point i was able to make shure that everything looked good under the truck and also let me keep tabs on drivers and how they where driving the trucks
