So I've searched the forums, found 4 reviews on the review page and a few threads on McElroy but none that actually answered any questions I am trying to find answers to.
Never thought about driving a flatbed but after talking to their recruiter I think I might want to drive a flatbed. I know anytime a recruiters lips are moving, odds are he's lying, but that's why I came here.
If anyone drives for them currently, I would love if you could give me some feed back.
1) Does anyone know how much their family plan health insurance cost and what kind of plan it is? I see they cover the cost for the employee but so did the State of NC, then they charged me almost $1000 a month for family medical, dental, and vision.
2) Are miles consistent or is it a feast or famine type thing? I see they offer a guaranteed minimum of $700 a week which is $250 more a week than what I make right now so that sounds great to me.
3) Their international trucks, what engine is in them? This might sound like an odd question but I have been fixing heavy trucks and buses for the last six years so I would like to know how reliable what I would be driving is.
4) Since you keep your truck with you, how do they handle preventative maintenance and emergency service issues? This is a real important question if I'm driving something with a NaviStar in it![]()
5) If you've drove for them and left on your own accord, why did you leave? Would you recommend them to someone just getting into the industry?
If you have anything I should know about them that I haven't asked, please feel free to share.
Negative responses are encouraged as well as positive responses but if all you can do is trash the company because something did not work out for you with them, please remember some people prefer Fords, some prefer Chevys. Some like fat chicks, and other's want them nice and thin. Just because a company was not the right fit for you does not mean they won't be the right fit for someone else.

I know it's not what you asked, but I'm giving you a heads up. Go peruse the Jobs section of this forum. McElroy has a recruiter who has a thread in there, as well as posts in a few threads in Seeking Employment.
-
I was looking for those, where do I find them?
-
Start here, it's the jobs section. I can't remember the person's username, but I think it is a lady.

I'll see if I can find a bit more specific. If not, just scroll through the threads in that section. -
Thank you! I've only been here a couple of weeks so I'm still learning my way around!

Not a problem.
Giving you a heads up, though. Recruiters are not allowed to recruit in any section other than that jobs section. So she might see this thread but she can't come in here and discuss the company with you. -
This site really is a great tool. Thank you.

Glad you found it. Any other guidance, don't hesitate to ask.
Here is a quick tip for you and any new readers to the forum. You can send a private message (PM) or what we call "start a conversation" with most members once you have at least 7 posts. However, the post count doesn't apply if you want to send a moderator a PM. You can do that at anytime.
This board is full of very helpful members. If you need any help or guidance figuring out the forum, ask and if a staff member doesn't see it pretty quickly, there are a multitude of other members who can help you.Dan.S Thanks this. -
