2018 for me, 55k in total personal compensation and before depreciation and taxes I still had a little over 49k in profit. You could say I made 104k k last year but I leave my money in the business and not pay myself a lot of money. I even had a disaster deal last year when I bought a maintenance nightmare used truck to put a driver in. I ended up selling it at a significant loss just to get rid of it.

Don't you run reefer at like 140k miles a year?

I drove 60 sum miles and paid taxes on 60 sum dollars last year. I think I slept in the truck 3 times last year.
It was a good year, what can I say?
I'm not going to tell you how much I put in my 401 and HSA though.
I must say, I think a lot of company drivers made more than me according to the IRS. But I'm perfectly fine with that.Long FLD Thanks this. -
More like 120-130k. I run 9800-11000 miles a month. I could have done a lot better. The used truck and hiring a driver deal really killed me. Mainly the used truck to blame.Scooter Jones Thanks this.

My goal is to show as little profit on the books as I can and subsequently pay as little taxes as I can.
I need those guys who are bragging about big company pay, paying big taxes, including s.s. and Medicare to keep it up! I'll be needing you to help subsidize my impending retirement in a few years LOLGreenPete359, TallJoe and Ruthless Thank this. -
Are you sure it’s not “Amazon didn’t pay its shareholders a dividend”?

This tax-free break comes even though Amazon almost doubled its U.S. profits from$5.6 billion to $11.2 billion between 2017 and 2018. To top it off, Amazon actually reported a $129 million 2018 federal income tax rebate—making its tax rate -1%.Feb 1TallJoe Thanks this. -
That's the whole point of showing minimal taxable income. Overdrive did a stupid analysis by using this figure as if it meant something. A fleet owner making profit of a million a year can reinvest profits into a commercial real estate, equipment upgrades, etc. and show as little as 65K (I am guessing this is possible) of taxable income. Almost perpetually.Scooter Jones Thanks this.
