Your emotionaly charged post is filled with so many wrong assumtions and errors, it barely rates a response. But to be clear here, I have never driven "3 feet off peoples bumper..cut people off...screamed at people to get the hell out of my way". I didnt even pick up the mic to say one word to that Swift driver. In fact I have never called out a driver for going slow, although earlier I had posted hypotheticaly in the right situation I might. Maybe a 10 mile stalemate, if it ever happens, will rate words on the radio though.
Those pics I posted have drawn a chuckle from many. But they sure do tax your feelers to a high degree. You clearly have issues over this (except the 5 mile stalemate, of course) I know I know, you were concerned about me "killing" the Swift driver in front, I know.
I've posted numerous times in this thread about having sympathy for governed drivers, and that I'd be glad to let a guy out if he's 5 mph ish slower, but somehow you missed all that.
Who here has the courage to post that they believe 5 miles to pass on flat ground is generaly acceptable? I'm starting to think we have at least one....

It's not acceptable, and I never said it was. All I've said it is a matter of courtesy that the slower truck should back out of it and let the faster one come on around him. I for one am the slower truck in just about every "confrontation" I encounter. If a truck is passing me, I back out of it and let him pass.
If my truck is only capable of doing 62 mph in a 70 mph zone, I want to do 62. I don't want to constantly adjust my speed to keep a comfortable following distance from a slower truck in front of me. I don't want to slowly creep up on a slower truck, back out of it, then slowly creep up on him again, back out of it, slowly creep up on him again, back out of it again.....I want to set my cruise to wide open and get on down the road.
And...I very rarely am the guy in the left lane. 99% of the time, I'm the guy in the right lane. I'm perfectly aware that the guy in the right lane has no legal obligation to slow down, and the guy in the left lane can get a ticket for impeding traffic. All I'm saying, is that it's just a matter of simple courtesy and common sense that the driver of the slower truck should be the guy to back out of it and let the faster truck come on around before the 5-10 mile drag race.

Well, seeing that "Mr. Barely-rates-a-response" took 3 paragraphs to respond, I shall do so in kind.
I'll take back everything I said when you can explain to me why it is that when you are driving along in your governed truck and are creeping up on a slower truck (1-2 mph difference) and you pull out to pass them, halfway through the process, they suddenly match your speed and hang you out there? I've had idiots match my speed for miles. I've slowed down to pull back in, only to have them slow as well. Now you have a line of impatient drivers behind you thinking that the guy in the hammer lane is the idiot. The point is...you don't know what is going on unless you are driving that guy's truck.
Nobody...and I mean nobody wants to be hung out there and look like an A-hole blocking everyone, but its not always the guys fault. sometimes you find yourself having made a bad decision. I've done it. Passed some guy just in time to see an upcomiing upsweep in the road that will knock 10mph off my tanker. Do I pull in front of him just in time to lose speed?...or stay out there till we head on the downsweep? another quandary for me ponder.
I'm sure glad to know theres people behind me snapping pictures and letting the world know what a frakkin moron I am.MrMustard and kaiwren986 Thank this. -
My truck runs 61 mph. The other day I slowly catch up to a truck that I know can outrun me. I knock my cruise down a little, I'm running 58 now, he's speeding up and slowing down a lot, traffic is light too. I know the scale is open about 5 miles down the road so I follow him.
We get through the scale, I'm loaded light and no traffic around so I jump in the left lane to pass him. He has a hardback book, a novel!,laying on the steering wheel. I pass him and he doesn't even notice I'm beside him!!! because he's reading!
I may hold you faster trucks up for a little bit, but for my safety (and career) I can't be following a POS like that. The Challenger Thanks this. -
I was pouring more coffee in my cup

This is the reason they put AIR HORNS on trucks! To make the other guy spill that in his lap!
-
Both trucks are probably governed at the same speed. When you are behind you get the draft which allows you to get closer, when you pull out you lose the draft and both trucks are now cutting through the air at the same speed, soon as you tuck back in you are no longer having to cut the air which allows you to suck right back up to the truck in front of you.

What a moron. He ever heard of an audio book? -
This post is funny because we all have been on both sides of this! I applaud you for being bold enough to write it, But I also like all the different responses! In the end we all need to take a deep breath, get over it, and be as safe as we can! And sometimes you just gotta laugh about it! Even if your mad!

I've gotta say, like others have, if you dont have the time and space to be out in the hammer lane then you shouldnt be out there. You also have a mirror to see what is coming up from behind...........
