Maybe Lone Mountain would be a better option.

Maybe. Or maybe Schneider Choice would be a good start for a year before you commit to a contract with anyone.

I believe the payoff is like 60K ..... but I’m not sure.

That's pretty steep when you consider the total you end up paying.

Well, do your math, take your time, and make an informed decision.
    Good luck

Absolutely. I'm currently renting from Prime anyway and my lease with them won't be up until December. That's when I'm thinking I might pursue other opportunities. Thanks for the input.

December is not usually the best time to jump from a truck or carrier unless you have a nice nest egg saved up. Was this a brand new truck when you rented it or a used one?

Used. And the main reason I'd want to jump then is that I don't really want to rent from Prime again. I do have a nice nest egg though, and it should be even bigger by the time December comes. I also have no wife, kids, or house to pay for and barely a reason to go home. My truck was used when I rented it because I didn't want to get stuck with it for a full 3 years. I wanted to start out leasing with Prime so I could get used to the way of running as an IC with percentage pay and still have a dispatcher before I made the jump to self dispatch. I don't want to stay with this system forever though because I can tell it's keeping my profit potential down.

But they finance that residual too..so you wont have to pay it all at once.

Still, $860 for 3 years and $60k at the end is over $190k. Even for a new KW, that's pretty steep.
