I am heading to Salem va in the morning from Cincinnati OH and have a quick route question. I plan on taking I71 to hwy 35 and 35 all the way through to I64 outside Charleston WV. I’ve never taken 35 before (was west coast only driver for a while) and just want to make sure it’s a safe route for big trucks. The atlas looks like it is but I figure it never hurts to double check with those with more experience than myself. Thanks!

Hammer down driver. 4 lane most of the way with very few lights. It's a good route.Trucker61016 Thanks this.

Off of I475, the loop on the southside, take Hwy 9. Used to be called the John Brown AA Hwy when you get into WV. Anyway take 9 down to I 64.

Last time I ran that route they still had not finished all the way to I 64. I do remember that Ohio cops were all over that route.

Didn’t know that was a good route, thanks I’ll remember that!

Yeah, the map has it all orange and blue but the blue breaks off at a couple points. I wasn’t sure if that meant it was no good. Thank you for the help!

35 is very good route. Pretty much like an Interstate. Go the speed limit because Ohio State patrol are very present there. I have been stopped for a random DOT inspection on that route. There is a short stretch in WV that is a little narrow but nothing to be concerned about.

64 should have Sandstone Mountain in there somewhere. Be careful coming off there particularly in bad weather. It's a little mountain to you Western Tumbleweeds but over east it's a beast.
Nitro will be something to get your old ticker going for a while anyway. *Rimshot please.Trucker61016 and Mmitchell0171 Thank this.
