How was your first year starting up?
What wrong decisions have you made?
What complications did you run in to because you didn't know any better?
Any other tips for first time truckers?
What do you wish you had learned before you started trucking?

How was your first year starting up? Broke
What wrong decisions have you made? Every other decision.
What complications did you run in to because you didn't know any better? All of them
Any other tips for first time truckers? Go for it and DON"T LOOK BACK in the end I don't think you will regret it. Best advice I could give is be prepared, especially financially, but also in your life in general. Don't rush into it the truck and the rite job will be waiting for you.Lumper Humper and Lite bug Thank this. -
First year was fun. Most complications come from learning the ins and outs of driving. Backing mainly. After 5 months it clicked. As for tips:
1. You will have to learn to eat shiznit and like the taste of it.
2. The show must go on. There will be adversity in this industry and you have to be prepared and tough. You better learn to work through things quickly.
3. GET OUT AND LOOK!!!! You dont wanna hit anything..it can get tragicJoeyJunk Thanks this. -

I'm glad it seems to be working for you, but in my case seems paperwork gets lost or some other excuse and factoring companies have a bank of lawyers and the time to chase them down which I don't so after being burnt several times I just consider it a cost of doing business,

I hear you. One time in 11 years and the company went out of business. I have been blessed during my days running. I mainly work with 3 companies now and home 90% every night.
Bluedew Thanks this.
