I been fueling up at Loves pretty regularly since they started offering a free cup of coffee with every 50 gallons.

    Sounds like my outfit.

Once you establish yourself as a complete ####up you get catered to, because then that’s all that’s expected of you. The ones that actually do produce a decent days work for their wage are then expected to pick up the slack and make numbers look right on paper for corporate’s perusal.

Exactly. For example, the guy who used to run the locals, now is an account rep, but still has to help the new local person (who has been here as long as JB and me and is totally the poster child for being a complete screw up) because he is always missing pick ups (but says it’s a piece of cake when it’s really a shyte show now).

But then again, in the words of our great new DDM, “You have no idea what we go through in the office to keep you guys rolling. Not one of you could come in here and do this job like we do.” Like we are all just Dumb A. truck drivers. Puleeze!

    Finfn1372 Thanks this.

I think that finally and officially change when we became Knight Jr... in my Refresher Orientation, LOVES was included with P/FJ and the Petro/TA chains as approved fuel Stops... well, except for that list of Petro/TA dealers that don’t accept contract fills.

And ya, like RC, I used to fill there all the time the first time around and never heard a whisper.

    Redtwin Thanks this.

At the Diamond Level they give you a nice shoulder rub after every fill... worth considering.

Come to think about it, I was taking a 34 yesterday and around 8-9am this morning, 4 hours before my 34 was up, I got two TOs... one short (4 hour round trip) local delivery and another one taking that empty for a swap at another local place heading to RVA.... full two days planned out!!!

I’m wondering now if that was his handiwork.
If it was, I certainly like this guy already... lol

    Speaking of Loves...

    4F62814E-B808-442E-8598-071270261B59.jpeg

Some guy rolled in with his tail on fire... Drivers trying to tell him on the CB ... then BOOM... and then another BOOM... (at which point I decide to get out of bed to check it out)

I guess he had his brakes lock up... was trying to get to the Shop to get them worked on... well, he DID make it to the Shop... just in time to dump the trailer and pull the tractor away.

The first few booms were the tires blowing... and then later, as the fire made its way to the front, the compressor blew up too.

Ok, heading back to bed to finish my 10.
